Lessons and life in 2025..plus, a designing course Immersion is open!
As we all know, life happens—and it never quite turns out the way we envision. From 2018 to 2024, we were blessed to operate in a lovely little space in Alberta after branching out of my home-based business, which started in 2016. Then, in June of 2024, I got the news that my shop lease would be terminated. It was a huge shock, and the months that followed were filled with sadness as we weathered a stormy part of my creative journey. We sold off our inventory, packed up the shop, and moved everything back home—right into our garage, where I found myself shipping orders in -40°C weather.

But once the dust settled, I had a chance to step back and evaluate the journey. I embraced the next few months as best as I could, we kept busy with my brother-in-law’s wedding and, in between, diving into sourdough baking—spending countless hours in the kitchen. It was a much-needed refocusing, and it did my soul well.

As an entrepreneur, though, the creative spark never truly fades. And a few weeks into 2025, I felt it again—my heart was ready to return to pattern designing.

I started sketching and painting, and before I knew it, designs were coming to life one after another. I shared them with my audience, and we opened a preorder. I also made over 50 prints available—99% of which I had designed throughout my creative career. When we closed the preorder after a week, I was blown away by how much fabric we had sold—- 950m!
It was overwhelming in the best way possible.
That moment reminded me of something important: creativity doesn’t disappear, even when life takes unexpected turns. It’s always there, waiting for the right season to bloom again. And even if the environment might not seem right, God can make the impossible, possible. Maybe this will encourage another creative, or small business owner, to keep chugging on when the going seems rough.

But it's true-- getting to this point wasn’t easy. When I first started designing patterns, I had no idea how to turn my sketches into digital files that could be printed on fabric. I spent countless hours figuring things out, making mistakes, and learning as I went. If you’ve ever dreamed of designing your own fabric or creating patterns, I know how intimidating that first step can feel.
That’s why I’m so excited to share something with you today. Immersion is a course that walks you through everything you need to know about pattern design—from sketching to digital formatting to final product. Whether you’re a total beginner or someone looking to refine your skills, this course is packed with knowledge that can open up a whole new creative world for you.

I truly believe that creativity should never be limited by what we don’t know yet. If designing patterns has been on your heart, this is your sign to go for it. Because if I’ve learned anything over the past few months, it’s that even when life takes unexpected turns, creativity always finds its way back home.
Bonnie’s course opens for this year and only once. This is a course I have only ever affiliated for because through all the ups and downs of a creative entrepreneurial life, I am a true witness and testimony that it works. If you’d like to have a one on one time with me you can use this link to sign up. Check out Immersion here. (If you use this affiliate link, you be qualify for a coaching call with me where you can ask me anything about my business, journey etc).
Is it your time to create? I can’t wait to see where life takes you and it just takes baby steps.
But if not, I’ll still be here creating! I can't to see what else 2025 holds!
Truly,
Sharon
